Free Debt Advice
At some time in their lives, most people will take on debt of some description, whether it's a mortgage, car loan, holiday money, credit cards or just a bank overdraft.
There is nothing wrong with sensibly handled borrwing, but these days, with the banks and credit card companies desperate to capture more customers, it is easier than ever to get into trouble.
Debt is only a problem if you cannot meet your monthly committments.
Of course, nobody really wants to have propblems with debt, but occasionally, unforseen circumstances such as a redundancy, relationship breakdown, new baby, illness or even bereavement can bring about short-falls in income which mean that you can no longer afford to make the payments that you once could.
Many people, when faced with these difficult situations, bury their heads in the sand and ignore the pressing problems of making arrangements with their creditors.
Quite understandably, they prioritise their spending to day to day essentials, hoping that circumstances change before the threatening letters start arriving in the post.
Others might even try to disguise the problems by borrowing even more money on dormant credit cards, in an attempt to make some payments, whilst maintaining a lifestyle that is unsustainable in the longer term.
It's easy to see why, in many cases, things spiral out of control causing worry, upset and depression. It's hard to see a way out of the mess and many people will simply wait for their homes to be repossessed and for bankruptcy proceedings to take their toll.
Debt need not be a problem though!
